The Opportunity
Big Rock Machining Co. is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual who wants to build a career in precision manufacturing. This entry-level position supports CNC production, part inspection, machine setup, and general shop operations.
Previous CNC experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train someone who has mechanical aptitude, pays attention to detail, works safely, and is genuinely willing to learn.
What Success Looks Like
Assigned equipment is operated safely and correctly after training.
Parts and inspection records are accurate, and unusual conditions are raised promptly.
Attendance, work-area organization, and follow-through are dependable.
Machining, inspection, setup, and Mastercam skills grow steadily with coaching.
What You'll Do
Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other assigned equipment after training.
Load and unload parts, monitor machine cycles, and report unusual conditions.
Assist with machine setups, tooling changes, and basic offsets.
Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions.
Read and follow job travelers, drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions.
Learn how Mastercam programs and toolpaths are used to machine parts.
Complete production and inspection records accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Preferred Qualifications
Vocational training or coursework in CNC machining or manufacturing.
Exposure to CNC mills, lathes, blueprint reading, G-code, or inspection tools.
Exposure to Mastercam or another CAM system.
Previous manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, maintenance, or mechanical experience.
